New York

New York City is an amazing city, but it’s also a very big place. There are many things to do and see here, but not all of them appeal to everyone. The best advice I can give you is to talk to your friends and family before making any decisions about where you want to live while you’re here; they know your tastes better than anyone else!

Places to study

Whether you're looking for a place to study alone, with friends or a tutor, we've got the best spots in NY. The library: A classic spot for studying on any college campus, but especially so in New York City. Many libraries offer free tours and events for students and are located close to other academic buildings such as art museums or performance venues such as theaters or concert halls. Coffee shops: With WiFi, outlets and sometimes even couches, coffee shops can make the perfect place to sit down with your schoolwork and get it done without feeling like you’re at work all day long! Try out one of these cafes around town:

Things to do

You'll want to spend your time doing the things that matter most to you. You might want to visit the museums, go see a concert or show, take in some beautiful parks, check out a zoo and aquarium, shop at malls or go shopping at galleries and boutiques. New York also has plenty of cinemas and cafes where you can relax with friends over coffee and dessert!

How to travel

Subway - New York's subway system is one of the largest in the world and can get you anywhere you need to go quickly, with more than 468 stations connecting all five boroughs. Taxi - Taxis are an easy way to travel around New York City if you're in a hurry or have heavy luggage. They can also be pricey—be sure to check out our tips for riding safely in cabs before calling for one! Walking - Walking is the most environmentally friendly (and free!) way to get around New York City's neighborhoods and parks—but keep an eye out for potholes, aggressive drivers, and other hazards on busy streets.

Places to Eat

New York is a great place to eat. There are lots of restaurants, cafes and food stalls. Some of the best restaurants are in Manhattan. There are many restaurants in Brooklyn and Queens too.

Places to shop

You can also find a variety of stores in New York City. Some of the best places to shop include: Times Square, which has an incredible selection of shops that sell everything from clothing to gadgets to souvenirs. Central Park and Madison Square Garden, which have great sporting goods stores if you want to stock up on clothes or equipment for your trip. Brooklyn Bridge, whose specialty food market offers fresh produce along with other products such as coffee beans and olive oil. (This is also a great place for people watching.) The Metropolitan Museum of Art sells paintings by famous artists like Picasso and Warhol--and they're also open until 10PM so that you can buy art after dinner!
